Have Much Do You Know About Your BODY and FOOD ?

There are variety of Malaysian delicacies and available almost 24 hours. As early as 3-5 am, there are always a mamak stall or restaurant round the corner open with lots of variety such as roti canai, nasi lemak, mee goreng, maggi mee, and of course the famous curry and rendang daging or sotong.

For chinese, as early as 7am the tim sum restaurant will be ready to serve with wide choices. Or some will head for the morning market where there are chee cheong fun, curry mee, char keow teow, mee yoke, kuey teow thng, etc.

Which is your favorite ? I love nasi lemak, chee cheong fun, tim sum, char kuey teow, roti canai, you name it, I like it.

What about you ? Which is your favorite ? Are you eating these food 3 times a day, 7 days a week ? All these food that you put into your body, have you ever thought it might be rubbish, no or low nutrients, but full of fat, chemicals, toxins, cholesterols, sugar and salt.

Have you ever thought that a plate of nasi lemak is close to 800kcal, a piece of roti canai is about 400kcal and a bowl of white rice is 400kcal and a large set of fast food burger, fries and soda exceeds 1500kcal.

On the other hand, our body only need (women) 1800kcal and (men) 2800kcal a day maximum depending on your height. Most of us consume up to 3000-4000kcal a day doing 3-5 meals, sometimes 6 meals (supper).

Hence, slowly we gain weight without noticing it. Yes food are delicious and yes your waistline is gaining too.
When we were young, we looked great. When we get older and eat more, we look like that and things got out of control. As we grow old, we slow down on our activities, especially after dinner. Normally for married man and women, after dinner is television time and both of you will be sitting down in from of tv for 2-3 hours and head to bed. Those high calorie food are still in the stomach and not fully digested yet. Some families are worse, they have dinner at about 9-10 pm and straight to bed after food. Your body is heavily burdened by your food consumption and hence work extremely hard to digest them and stored those excessive calories as FAT.

To stay fit and healthy, stay away from food after 9pm even if you are dead hungry. Should you be hungry after 9pm, eat something light such as cereals, oatmeals, fruits or a slice of bread. No food 4 hours before sleep and your body will perform better and last longer (live longer).

The next post I will be sharing about how nutrition helped me... be healthy and lost 9kg in 3 months !
